Free WordPress plugin

Convert any image to PNG, right in your browser

Drop in a JPG, WEBP, GIF or BMP and choose what to keep: a rectangle, a freehand outline, the subject on its own, or any object you click. Everything runs on your device, so your images are never uploaded.

  • No uploads
  • Exact pixel crop
  • Transparent backgrounds
  • Dark-mode aware
Four ways to choose

Pick exactly what ends up in the PNG

Switch between modes without losing your image. The first two work completely offline; the two AI modes run on your device as well, after a one-time model download.

Rectangle Crop

A draggable, resizable crop box with eight handles. The selected size is shown live in the image's real pixels, and it works with the mouse, touch or the keyboard.

Fully offline

Freehand Lasso

Draw an outline around the subject. Everything outside it becomes transparent and the PNG is trimmed to the outline's bounding box.

Fully offline

Auto Subject Extraction

The main subject is detected automatically and the background is made transparent, with no dragging or drawing. Detection runs on your own device.

AI Click Select

Click any object and a Segment Anything style model outlines it for you. The object is exported cropped to its bounding box with exact, per-pixel transparency.

How it works

From any image to a clean PNG in four steps

No account, no queue, no page reload. Convert as many images as you like in one sitting.

  1. Drop or choose an image Drag and drop, click to browse, or paste from the clipboard. JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP are accepted.
  2. Pick a selection mode Rectangle Crop, Freehand Lasso, Auto Subject Extraction or AI Click Select. Switching mode keeps your image in place.
  3. Adjust the selection Drag the box, draw an outline, or click an object. "Reset Selection" puts things back to the full image whenever you want to start over.
  4. Confirm and download Press "Confirm and Convert to PNG", check the preview, then "Download PNG". The file keeps its original name with a .png extension.

Your images never leave your device

Decoding, selection and PNG encoding all happen in your browser with the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to this site or to any third party, and nothing is stored on the server.

The two AI modes are the one exception to "no network requests": the first time you use them, your browser downloads the model itself (about 44 MB for Auto Subject Extraction and about 38 MB for AI Click Select) from third-party content delivery networks. The model comes to you; your image still stays put. Your browser caches the download, so later images are quicker.

On a phone using mobile data, that first download is worth knowing about. Rectangle Crop and Freehand Lasso make no network requests at all.

Good to know

Common questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, selection and PNG encoding all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to the server and nothing is stored in a database. That is true of the AI modes too: the model is downloaded to your device and the image is processed there.

Why is my PNG larger than the original JPG?

That is expected. PNG is a lossless format, so re-encoding a lossy JPG or WEBP usually produces a bigger file. The upside is that no further quality is lost.

Which browsers are supported?

Any current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Older browsers that cannot encode canvas content are shown a clear message instead of the tool silently failing.
